When fishing around any type of cover with soft plastics, I strongly recommend that you tex-impose your plastics and bury the tip of the hook in the soft plastic. This will greatly reduce your chances of getting snagged or of picking up weeds during the retrieve. Along with this, it makes your plastic much more compact, so that it slides through cover more effectively.
