Tip of the Week 56

As with many other bass fisherman, I am a firm believer in catch and release and keeping the bass alive. However this is not always easy, as hooks can sometimes lodge themselves into the bass causing them to bleed out. A great tip that I learned to deal with this is to pour Sprite on the wounds of bass. The citric acid in the Sprite reacts with the bass’s capillaries and causes them to shrink, which works to slow and stop the bleeding. This will greatly increase the odds of the bass surviving once it is released and will help to keep the population up on your local lake.
