I got out on the water around 8:30 and launched at the south end of the lake. It was pretty windy and choppy out on the water, so I decided that I would try and find a spot that was shield from the wind. With that said, I headed to the docks to the right of the Lake Sammamish Beach because it the point that came out seemed to shield those docks from the wind. I tried there for a little, but it was just too shallow considering it was over 80 degrees out. I then decided to find some deeper docks that were in the shade and that brought me back to the docks around Vasa Park. I went to the dock where I’ve been catching them around there and was able to land a nice 1 lb bass, but after that it went cold and I wasn’t able to get anything else. I then decided to give the docks on the right side of Vasa a try and on my 5th cast I hooked into a monster smallmouth bass that was taking lots of line. When I got him in the boat I noticed that I had foul hooked him right in the eye. He turned out to be a monster, weighing in at 3 lbs, which is tied for the biggest that I have pulled out of Sammamish. I then went on to try some other techniques such as swimbaiting and jerkbaiting, but didn’t have much success, so I headed in around 9:00 p.m.

Observations: The streak of hot days continues here in Issaquah and that brought the water temperature up a lot from the last time that I fished it, with temperatures reaching up to 80 degrees in the shallow. This forced the bass out a little deeper and even though I still caught my bass close to docks, I caught them on the docks that extended out a long ways. I caught mine in 16-18 feet of water, which is a little bit deeper than last time.
